As a Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist here in California, I have focused my career on helping clients reduce relationship conflict. My 1st 10 years as a therapist were spent working with a non-profit Domestic Violence shelter based organization. I left that agency in 2006 to start my own private practice (now called Bingham Marriage & Family Therapy, Inc. DBA Alternative Health Consultants). I partnered with Theresa Ramos to develop an evidence based Domestic Violence Diversion program. We have had thousands of referrals come through our door. Four years ago we began running statistics on clients pre vs. post testing, and we are seeing statistically significant positive gains by those who graduate. I am well versed in helping clients learn tools and skills to achieve the relationship and life that they desire. We encourage everyone to remember "Life is a journey." And, "What the mind can see, the body can achieve."

Personal Information
I've lived in many parts of the world, but I call California home. I'm an advocate of no-kill animal shelters, and have adopted numerous dogs and cats through the years. Currently I have 3 dogs and 1 cat. I'm currently looking for the right Lab puppy, and plan to train it to be a true therapy animal. The dogs I have now are all rescues, and just like people, come with their own childhood traumas as well as past relationship issues that disrupt their adult behavior. They continue to be a work in progress.

Approach
I consider myself eclectic. To help my clients, I pull from may different theoretical orientations. However, I am grounded in the belief: "If we do not change how we think, we will not change our behavior." The ultimate skill that I teach is GROW UP. Most people I work with do not know what it means. So, we've placed it as an acronym. For example: G = Gain perspective, compassion, and integrity. R = Be Respectful with your words, behaviors, and boundaries. O = Own your responsibility (or own your life). W = Practice winning strategies. And, the UP = Understand and Practice Emotional Intelligence (EQ), and the Law of Attraction. I've found that when adults really GROW UP, they are in a better position to ask for and achieve what they truly want. -
