Hello!
My name is Sheri Milbourne. I am a professional counselor licensed in Virginia with 5 years of experience working in various settings including schools, in home and outpatient. I have worked with clients with a wide range of concerns including grief, depression, anxiety, relationship issues, parenting problems, career challenges, OCD, ADHD, Bipolar Disorder, substance dependency, and the LGBTQ population. I have also helped many people who have experienced trauma and emotional abuse. I consider myself a very spiritual person and I like to incorporate spiritual practices into my work though it is not a requirement.

Personal Information
I'm 36 years old and I enjoy learning and growing individually, and within all of my relationships. I like to learn about many different topics, teachings, etc. and keep what I find useful from each one. My favorite place to be is by the water listening to the sound. I find it calming and relaxing and my thoughts just disappear. I am a Virginia native and grew up on the Eastern Shore of Virginia, and now I live in Culpeper, Virginia.

Approach
My counseling style is creative, collaborative, and interactive. I believe in treating everyone with respect, sensitivity, and compassion and I don't believe in stigmatizing labels. My approach combines cognitive-behavioral, humanistic, psychodynamic, rational-emotive, solution focused, gestalt, and person centered counseling. I will tailor our dialogue and treatment plan to meet your unique and specific needs and encourage you to communicate when things aren't working so that we can adjust our goals or approach at any time throughout the counseling process.
