I am a practicing Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor (LCDC). I have an extensive background in Developmental Psychologist, having taught Introductory and Human Development Psychology courses at various colleges as well as working with parents. I am certified in Human Development and Family studies, and I hold two Master’s degrees in Psychology with emphases in both Human Development and in Family Studies.
I have channeled my many years of experience working with children, adolescents, and adults into writing my first book. My first book was published in the spring of 2015, which focuses on the restoration of family balance and the belief that by collaborating with the family and challenging the maladaptive behaviors that promote dysfunctional family and parent/child dynamics, families may redefine the family narrative, the family script, and the personal narrative. As a Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor, I understand the physiological changes that occur during and subsequent to substance use. I also subscribe to the belief that substance abuse is an illness and the behaviors and distortions in the individual’s thought processes are a manifestation of said illness. I specialize in narrative, cognitive behavioral therapies, and family therapy as it relates to substance treatment. I offer holistic approach to wellness. Sobriety is a journey; let me collaborate with you on your journey to wellness is an introductory paragraph that provides the opportunity to grab the client's attention.
I hold 2 Master's degrees, emphasizing Human Development and Family Studies. I have extensive background teaching Psychology concepts and principles at the college level.
