I am a Licensed Marriage Family Therapist, Licensed Professional Counselor, and Certified Life Coach in the Southern Oregon area. I enjoy providing therapeutic growth both face-to-face and in the privacy of one's own home. iTherapy provides me a forum to give my services in a safe secure chosen environment.
I grew up as a bi-racial African American and Jewish child in South Central Los Angeles with the guidance of my great grandmother and the absence of my birth mother. I had occasional interactions with an abusive father. From the age of 11 on, through the help of loving foster parents, I was guided to awaken to the strength, intelligence, and love within me. These early and later life experiences taught me to persevere and seek healthy ways to fully live the life I desire. I have found that what one is looking for they are looking with. You are already in possession of the richness, love, and peace in your life.
After dropping out of Belmont High School in Los Angeles I later attended the University of California in Santa Barbara and received a Bachelor's Degree in Sociology. I then completed my Master's Degree from the University of Iowa in Educational Counseling. I have been a Licensed Marriage Family Therapist for over 35 years, and also am a Licensed Professional Counselor, and a Certified Life Coach in California and Oregon.
Specialties & Issues
I provide in person and online psychotherapy to individuals, couples, and groups ages 8 through adult. Life coaching is also provided to assist clients to achieve greater clarity in realizing life ambitions and career goals. I have worked in residential settings with mentally challenged clients, provided foster care training and home management for foster children and foster parents, facilitated court ordered parent education classes, and conducted men's groups to develop greater sensitivity and emotional strength. I have also been a national presenter to promote self-esteem.
My objective in giving therapy is to awaken clients to the attachments which occurred in latency years and adolescence that are interfering with their current life journey. I use a variety of modalities such as talk therapy, meditation, journaling, goal setting, and exercises to promote a greater awareness of the impact of one's attitude in achieving a fulfilling life.
