Hi! I'm a Licensed Professional Counselor in Texas, Washington, Delaware, and Virginia.
I earned my MA in Counseling Psychology with a concentration in Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and working with children. I have over 14 years of experience working with various populations and in a variety of settings. Most recently I've worked with people of all ages in private practice on issues such as depression, anxiety, stress, relationships, transitions, and parenting. Previously, I have worked with kids in residential facilities, survivors of sexual abuse, offenders in secure facilities, substance-abusing teens in schools, and youth and their families in a community mental health center.
My primary mode of treatment is Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy with a very person-centered approach. I see my job as helping you meet the goals you've defined and working together to gain a better understanding of the challenges in life and improve your overall wellbeing.

Specialties & Issues
I have experience successfully helping people suffering from daily worry and anxiety, overwhelming fear, obsessive thoughts, and compulsive behaviors, as well as those wanting to improve issues in relationships like identifying patterns and improving communication. Many times I can help people find effective ways to cope with life stress, grief, and negative thinking patterns.

Approach
My approach to therapy is client-centered and strengths-based. I believe that positive change comes from unconditional positive regard and connecting with someone who allows you to feel heard and understood. It is my view that a therapist does not solve all of the problems, but joins you in a journey as therapy is a process where you and I work together to collaborate in your treatment and determine what works best for you in your unique circumstances.
For many of my clients with anxiety-related issues, I have found that a cognitive-behavioral approach is often most helpful. In other cases, positive change comes from identifying the healthy coping skills and tools that work best for you. -
