I am an LPC with specializing in trauma informed care. I use a combination of TF-CBT and TBRI to help children and families heal after traumatic events that may occur. This combination is successful after situations of abuse, neglect, multiple home placement, violence, and incidences of Bullying.

Utilizing TF-CBT to help guide the child/adolescent to an understanding of trauma and their story and then bringing that family or caregiver on board with the harmonious principles of Connecting, Empowering and Correcting in a way that the child can feel attachment and self-efficacy.

Approach

My approach is an attachment centered, evidenced based approach. Helping children and adolescents understand the trauma they might have experienced and helping them understand how to best to heal from the trauma. I also work with families on learning best practices for attachment after trauma experiences. My approach is holistic, multi-disciplinary, flexible and attachment centered. TBRI (R) is designed for children who come from hard places but the principles can apply to all children and adolescents.

I also use the concept of mindfulness in my counseling heavily. I enjoy helping others grasp the concept of taking care of oneself physically, emotionally and spiritually to come to healing places.
