My ideal client has experienced hardships, particularly in childhood, and is interesting in assessing their life, their strengths and work together towards healthy goals to manage depression, anxiety, or any stress that might impede achieving a stable healthy life.

WHAT IF I AM NOT DEAF OR HARD OF HEARING?
Dr. Mompremier elected as her area of doctoral study the interface between psychology and deafness. This is a unique interface that people often mistakenly assume is so specialized that skills are not transferable to mental health work with persons with normal hearing. However, this interface has exposed Dr. Mompremier to a more in-depth understanding of the development of emotional regulation, psycho-social development, attachment, trauma and many other areas that greatly impact the mental health of all persons. Thus, Dr. Mompremier is available to work with ANY adult client regardless of hearing status. In fact, she enjoys working with persons of diverse backgrounds.
Her areas of clinical interests include:
- Recurring Depression
- Anxiety/ Panic Attacks
- Bipolar Disorder
- Relationship Issues
- Motivation Struggles
- Spiritual Factors
Dr. Mompremier has training in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Acceptance Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Client Centered Therapy (CCT) approaches. Treatment is client focused and may incorporate multiple approaches for various client goals. In short, I assess a client's worldview/spirituality/guiding principles to use these values as a tool to motivate and navigate clients towards their ideal self. I work to dispel shame and self-defeating thoughts/behaviors that are a barrier to change and create an unhealthy self-image. I work with clients to make lifestyle changes that sustain positive mental and emotional health. My approach is direct, but caring, and I find that clients appreciate my sincerity.
