Hi, my name is David L. Patrick, Licensed Clinical Social Worker. I own and operate a private practice as a therapist in Montana City, MT. I have 8 years of daily experience in counseling individuals from a diverse background. I believe my clients are the experts on themselves, and I am here simply as a guide and to provide education when asked. I think I have the greatest job in the world, as people are infinitely interesting and curious. My education and experience have given me the skills I need and working one on one with my clients by being invited into their private lives is always a privilege and an honor.

Personal Information
I feel I have a heart for counseling, mainly due to a family member who struggled with a mental illness. I feel like I have a calling in becoming a therapist and it is the love of my work and seeing my clients recover that excites and encourages me to accompany the person on their inner journey. I am originally from the deep south but have lived in Montana for the previous 15 years. I live with my sweetheart and our two dogs. A chihuahua and a German Shepard. I enjoy hunting and fishing and weekend trips discovering new places in Montana.
Qualifications
I attended Carroll College in Helena MT, where I received my Bachelors or Art in Psychology. I then went on to earn my Master's degree in Clinical Social Work from Walla Walla University in WA. I have 6 years of daily experience working in mental health counseling, which included, shared daily meetings with medical, administrative, and psychiatric staff. I am familiar with many medications, and their applications, as well as several modalities of therapy. -

Approach
My philosophy on therapy is that my clients already know what they need to do, and they are the experts on themselves. I begin by building up a honest, trusting relationship with each person, then as we work together I provide the tools they need to make the adjustments and changes necessary. It is exciting and fulfilling work to see my clients work through problems and overcome them. -
