Do you have a picture in your mind of what going to therapy will be like; someone sitting quietly, writing down what you say, analyzing you? Have you been to therapy in the past and found it to not be helpful, that you were not able to connect with the therapist. I would love the chance to help you have a different experience, one that is positive and safe. I believe that therapy is an opportunity to understand how your experiences have made you who you are and to learn how to become who you want to be. One of the most important predictors of progress in therapy is the connection with the therapist. My approach is laid back, warm and comfortable, and I work collaboratively with my clients to make the process fulfilling and safe.
I have had the pleasure of running a private practice in Connecticut for 7 years before moving to Florida in 2017. Working with my clients, helping them on their journey and learning from them has been a blessing. I look forward to being able to continue this work and to continue helping people on the journey towards peace in their lives.
I graduated with my Bachelors in Social Work in 1999 from Western New England University in Massachusetts. I worked for a year in the field before I went back to obtain my Masters in Social Work from Springfield College. I have worked in many different settings within the field of social work including in home care, partial hospital program, inpatient psychiatric facility, an emergency room and a community mental health agency. Since 2010 I have started and managed a private practice. I am currently licensed as an LCSW in the state of Connecticut as well as Florida.
